The Proven Way to Become a Better Speaker
Welcome to City Power Toastmasters. We have been helping people with their communication and leadership skills since May of 1970. We are a youthful, energetic and upbeat group of downtown diverse professionals.

Our purpose is to enable members to gain confidence and be able to express ideas clearly and assertively and to become better listeners, thinkers and speakers.

We meet every Wednesday from noon to 1 pm in room 600 of the Municipal Services Building at One 4th Street North, downtown St. Petersburg.

How does it work?
What's the secret to Toastmasters' success? Practice and feedback. Instead of passively listening to lectures by communications "experts," Toastmasters believes that people can only truly improve their public speaking skills by actually speaking in front of others regularly. Our club provides a proactive and supportive atmosphere for members to speak before the club on a weekly basis. By taking advantage of our ongoing speaking opportunities, you'll find that those shy and awkward feelings that are common with public speaking will begin to diminish.

Every project has specific goals to help you learn to improve your skills. You will be given feedback from the members as well as an oral evaluation. This evaluation will help point out your strengths and provide growth points.
